Tokyo Disney Resort operator Oriental Land Co. Ltd. is planning to spend over ¥300 billion, or $2.68 billion, to expand the theme park by about 30%, The Nikkei reported.
Oriental Land has reportedly initiated discussions with U.S.-based Walt Disney Co. on its plans to build new attractions and ease congestion in the theme park, in a bid to stay competitive in the industry.
The new attractions, targeting both domestic and international tourists, are expected to open around 2023.
