Honda Atlas Cars fiscal Q4 profit climbs 18.3% YOY

Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to 5.12 Pakistani rupees per share, an increase of 18.2% from 4.33 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 730.8 million rupees, an increase of 18.3% from 617.6 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.8% from 5.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 8.4% on an annual basis to 12.50 billion rupees from 11.53 billion rupees, and total operating expenses grew 8.0% year over year to 11.33 billion rupees from 10.49 billion rupees.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to 1.59 billion rupees, or 11.11 rupees per share, from 632.4 million rupees, or 4.43 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 16.43 rupees per share, an increase of 86.3% from 8.82 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 2.35 billion rupees, an increase of 86.3% from 1.26 billion rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased on an annual basis to 37.76 billion rupees from 39.15 billion rupees, and total operating expenses declined 8.2% year over year to 33.99 billion rupees from 37.05 billion rupees.

The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to 3.16 billion rupees, or 22.15 rupees per share, in the full year, from 1.07 billion rupees, or 7.52 rupees per share.

As of June 8, US$1 was equivalent to 101.88 Pakistani rupees.
