Nagawa Co. fiscal Q1 profit climbs 47.0% YOY

Nagawa Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥31.48 per share, an increase of 50.0% from ¥20.99 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥438.1 million, an increase of 47.0% from ¥298.0 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 8.1% from 6.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 8.2% year over year to ¥5.42 billion from ¥5.01 billion, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to ¥4.75 billion from ¥4.59 billion.

Reported net income increased 42.9% on an annual basis to ¥370.0 million, or ¥26.59 per share, from ¥259.0 million, or ¥18.25 per share.

As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.85.
