Ensuiko Sugar Refining Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥7.31 per share, an increase of 24.6% from ¥5.86 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥196.3 million, a gain of 24.6% from ¥157.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 2.7% from 2.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to ¥7.19 billion from ¥7.39 billion, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to ¥6.88 billion from ¥7.11 billion.
Reported net income rose 31.5% year over year to ¥188.0 million, or ¥7.00 per share, from ¥143.0 million, or ¥5.32 per share.
As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.28.
