Airbus CEO Tom Enders will not seek a third term when his mandate expires in May 2019, French newspaper Le Figaro reported, according to Bloomberg News.
The board of the aerospace giant will endorse Enders' decision not to renew his mandate during a meeting on Dec. 14 and will formalize his move in early 2018, the report said.
A spokesman for the company said no decision has been made, dismissing the report as speculation.
The possible leadership change at Airbus looms as the company faces bribery and corruption investigations in the U.K. and France. In October, Enders warned Airbus employees regarding "turbulent and confusing times" and urged them to support the top management and the board.
