Ares Management names head of European private equity

Columbia, S.C.-based South State Corp. unit South State Bank named Robert Cowgill president of Virginia and Jay Reagan president of North Carolina. Cowgill joined the company in 2014, and Reagan has held numerous positions with the bank, including regional president and, most recently, a director position within the commercial bank.

Additionally, the bank promoted Jay Lasater to Wilmington region president and named Dale Zeglin Grand Strand region president. Zeglin was a business banking manager for Wells Fargo & Co.


Reston, Va.-based John Marshall Bank hired Shalini Kapur as vice president of treasury sales and service manager. She was previously vice president and branch manager of United Bank.

Financial services

Ares Management Corp. named Stephane Etroy partner and head of European private equity, effective Feb. 6.

Etroy most recently worked as executive vice president and head of private equity at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.


CoStar Group Inc. added Louise Sams and Robert Musslewhite as directors. Sams has experience as a media executive and practicing attorney, while Musslewhite served as chairman and CEO of The Advisory Board Co.


EZCORP Inc.'s former Deputy CFO and Chief Accounting Officer David McGuire left the firm, effective Jan. 8.

CFO Daniel Chism has assumed the role of the principal accounting officer, along with that of principal financial officer.


Options Clearing Corp. promoted Carla Dawson to chief human resources officer. She was previously first vice president of talent management.


ITE Management LP named Tod Trabocco director of strategy and research. He has experience in private credit and structured equity.
