Belc CO. LTD. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Feb. 29 came to ¥64.36 per share, a gain of 15.5% from ¥55.74 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.34 billion, an increase of 15.5% from ¥1.16 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 2.8% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 11.2% year over year to ¥47.83 billion from ¥43.00 billion, and total operating expenses increased 11.2% from the prior-year period to ¥45.80 billion from ¥41.20 billion.
Reported net income grew 22.2% on an annual basis to ¥1.34 billion, or ¥64.02 per share, from ¥1.09 billion, or ¥52.38 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥263.18 per share, a gain of 16.5% from ¥225.86 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥5.49 billion, a rise of 16.5% from ¥4.71 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose 12.4% from the prior-year period to ¥181.07 billion from ¥161.12 billion, and total operating expenses grew 12.2% on an annual basis to ¥172.66 billion from ¥153.84 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 17.4% on an annual basis to ¥5.24 billion, or ¥251.21 per share, in the full year, from ¥4.46 billion, or ¥213.97 per share.
As of May 27, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.87.
