Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥17.40 per share, an increase of 61.5% from ¥10.78 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥4.81 billion, an increase of 61.5% from ¥2.98 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.8% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 8.1% on an annual basis to ¥169.84 billion from ¥157.08 billion, and total operating expenses grew 8.2% from the prior-year period to ¥163.05 billion from ¥150.71 billion.
Reported net income grew 74.6% on an annual basis to ¥4.65 billion, or ¥16.84 per share, from ¥2.67 billion, or ¥9.65 per share.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
