Green Bancorp drops over 4% after pricing secondary common stock offering

Green Bancorp Inc. dropped 4.86% to $22.50 around noon on Thursday, May 24.

The Houston-based company priced its secondary offering of 2 million common stock at $22.80 per share. In a May 24 press release, the company said it will not receive any proceeds from the offering, which is set to close May 29.

In general, U.S. bank and thrift stocks were trading lower around midday. As of 12:00 p.m. ET, the SNL U.S. Bank Index was down 1.38% to 622.83 and the SNL U.S. Thrift Index retreated 0.83% to 967.71. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.61% to 24,735.56, the Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 0.28% to 7,405.59 and the S&P 500 declined 0.55% to 2,717.60.
