Liberty Latin America to buy controlling stake in United Telecommunications

Liberty Latin America Ltd. agreed to acquire an 87.5% stake in United Telecommunications Services NV, a provider of fixed and mobile services to several Caribbean islands, in an all-cash transaction.

Under the transaction, United Telecommunications has an enterprise value of $189 million on a cash- and debt-free basis, Liberty Latin America said March 26.

Liberty Latin America intends to fund the acquisition through existing liquidity. The transaction is expected to close in the coming days.

Liberty Latin America is a telecommunications company operating in more than 20 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean.
