CBOE to transition 1st exchange onto Bats technology platform in 2018

CBOE Holdings Inc. announced that CBOE Futures Exchange will be the first of the company's exchanges to transition onto the Bats Global Markets Inc. technology platform.

The migration will take place Feb. 25, 2018. The transitions of C2 and CBOE options exchanges are set to follow on undisclosed dates. CBOE completed its acquisition of Bats in February.

Throughout the transition, Bats and CBOE exchanges are expected to operate unimpeded, with CBOE's trading floor continuing to serve its options market.

The company said CBOE Futures Exchange trading privilege holders can request new connectivity, starting in July, with basic connectivity testing set to start in September. The company is planning various tests to ensure readiness for the switch-over throughout the fourth quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018.
