U.S. automotive components supplier BorgWarner Inc. said March 8 that it opened a new production plant at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong, Thailand, on March 7.
The 6,500-square-meter plant includes a production line for advanced turbocharging solutions, with production taking place in a clean environment equipped with an over-pressurized and air-conditioned airlock-enclosed shop floor that will keep out any particles that may interfere with production processes. The facility has been designed according to lean production principles.
The company established the plant to fulfill the increasing demand of the expanding Southeast Asian automotive market and global automakers in the region.
