Calyxt Inc. appointed James Blome CEO with effect from Oct. 1.

The Minnesota-based gene-editing agriculture company is a unit of Paris-based biotech company Cellectis S.A.

Calyxt's former CEO Yves Ribeill remains a board member.

Blome was the CEO and president of Bayer Crop Science and has more than 25 years of experience in the agriculture industry. He also held executive positions at Agriliance LLC prior to Bayer.
