Medical Ikkou fiscal Q2 profit climbs 17.9% YOY

Medical Ikkou Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 came to ¥105.36 per share, an increase of 17.9% from ¥89.37 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥201.9 million, an increase of 17.9% from ¥171.3 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.1% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 17.1% on an annual basis to ¥6.42 billion from ¥5.49 billion, and total operating expenses increased 17.8% year over year to ¥6.13 billion from ¥5.21 billion.

Reported net income increased 14.5% year over year to ¥190.0 million, or ¥99.16 per share, from ¥166.0 million, or ¥86.63 per share.

As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
