CNOOC starts oil production at Huizhuo project in South China Sea

Hong Kong-based CNOOC Ltd. said Jan. 16 the Huizhou 32-5 and Huizhou 33-1 oilfield joint development project has started production.

The joint project is in the south-central part of the east South China Sea, with a water depth of around 115 meters. No other details were provided.

The company has also built one drilling and production platform in the Huizhou 25-8 oilfield. One well is in production and will reach full production of around 19,200 barrels per day in 2020.

CNOOC Ltd. holds a 100% interest in the Huizhou 32-5 and Huizhou 33-1 oilfields. The company also serves as contract operator.
