Japan unemployment rate slips in January

Japan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slipped to 2.4% in January from 2.8% in December 2017, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed.

The availability of jobs was at its highest level in 44 years, Reuters reported March 2.

The jobs-to-applicants ratio in January was 1.59, unchanged from December 2017, government data showed.
