Honda Motor Co., Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥64.51 per share, compared with ¥64.26 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥116.26 billion, compared with ¥115.82 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 3.9% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to ¥3.015 trillion from ¥2.890 trillion, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to ¥2.850 trillion from ¥2.719 trillion.
Reported net income increased 17.9% from the prior-year period to ¥141.90 billion, or ¥78.73 per share, from ¥120.37 billion, or ¥66.79 per share.
As of Nov. 7, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.96.
