Ford issues two safety recalls for 424 vehicles in North America

Ford Motor Co. said May 18 that it is issuing two safety recalls in U.S. for 424, model-year 2018, vehicles manufactured at Ohio and Chennai, India, assembly plants.

The company is recalling 151 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles manufactured from March 28 to April 17 at the Ohio assembly plant for defective hydraulic brake systems. A fault in parking brake cable tension could result in unintended vehicle movement, it said.

Ford will be recalling 273 Ford EcoSport vehicles assembled at Chennai assembly plant from Oct. 27, 2017, to March 6 for incorrectly installing European brake fluid reservoir caps and European owners' manual kits instead of U.S. versions required by the federal motor vehicle safety standard, the company said.
