Portugal's Benfica soccer club rolls out OTT service

Portuguese soccer club Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol SAD launched its own over-the-top platform, Benfica Play, Digital TV Europe reported.

The streaming service, which offers exclusive video content from the soccer club, is accessible through a dedicated website and apps for devices powered by Google LLC's Android and Apple Inc.'s iOS operating systems. Benfica club members will pay €1.99 for a monthly subscription to Benfica Play, while nonmembers will be charged €2.99 per month.

Benfica Play relies on the Insys Sport service developed by Insys Video Technologies in partnership with GTC - Sistemas Digitais de Vídeo, according to a statement.
