Casio Computer Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥22.85 per share, an increase of 61.8% from ¥14.12 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥6.10 billion, an increase of 60.6% from ¥3.80 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 6.9% from 4.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 6.3% year over year to ¥87.78 billion from ¥82.55 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥78.99 billion from ¥75.98 billion.
Reported net income rose 63.4% from the prior-year period to ¥5.77 billion, or ¥21.61 per share, from ¥3.53 billion, or ¥13.12 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
