East Japan Railway Co.'s profit fell to ¥78.18 billion, or ¥203.80 per share, in the first fiscal quarter, down from ¥86.27 billion, or ¥222.53 per share, in the comparable period last year.
The railroad's operating revenues came in at ¥726.36 billion in the quarter that ended June 30, up from ¥711.89 billion.
Operating income stood at ¥138.69 billion, up slightly from ¥138.60 billion.
The company now expects its full-fiscal-year 2019 basic EPS to come in at ¥757.55, up from the initial guidance of ¥750.66.
