Hosoya Pyro-Engineering Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥14.97 per share, compared with a loss of ¥2.50 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥60.0 million, compared with a loss of ¥10.0 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 9.1% from negative 1.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 26.6% on an annual basis to ¥657.0 million from ¥519.0 million, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥560.0 million from ¥534.0 million.
Reported net income came to ¥24.0 million, or ¥5.99 per share, compared to a loss of ¥7.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.75 per share, in the prior-year period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥32.44 per share, an increase of 28.4% from ¥25.27 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥130.0 million, an increase of 28.4% from ¥101.3 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled ¥1.57 billion, compared with ¥1.58 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses fell year over year to ¥1.36 billion from ¥1.42 billion.
The company said reported net income declined on an annual basis to ¥98.0 million, or ¥24.46 per share, in the full year, from ¥102.0 million, or ¥25.46 per share.
