China to provide US$500M loan to Indonesian theme park project

The government of China is providing a US$500 million loan to state-owned Metallurgical Corp. (MCC) Group construction company for the development of a theme park in Indonesia, which will include Trump-branded golf course, hotels and a residence, the National Review reported.

Earlier in May, the developer signed a deal with Indonesia's PT MNC Land Tbk to work on the US$1 billion Lido Lakes Resort and Theme Park in West Java. Metallurgical Corp. was chosen in June 2016 to carry out the US$500 million engineering, procurement and construction services contract for the project.

The May 14 report noted that the loan will not be directly used for the development of any Trump-branded features in the project.
