Intel elects new chairman

Andy Bryant stepped down as chairman of Intel Corp.'s board.

Bryant will remain on the board through the end of the company's 2020 annual meeting of stockholders.

Intel's board elected Omar Ishrak to succeed Bryant as an independent chairman, according to a Jan. 21 news release. Intel also elected Alyssa Henry to the board. Her election marks the seventh new independent director added to Intel's board since the beginning of 2016.

Henry has been seller lead for Square Inc. since 2014.
