Los Angeles-based growth equity firm Strand Equity led a minority investment in Scottsdale, Ariz.-based acupuncture services provider Modern Acupuncture.
The investment amount was not disclosed.
Other Modern Acupuncture shareholders include acupuncturist Bob Doane, World Health Organization delegate Marilyn Allen, branding expert Scott Goodson, health and wellness entrepreneur Charles Anderson, entrepreneur Cole Zucker and actress Cameron Diaz.
Modern Acupuncture operates 49 clinics in the U.S. across 16 states, with plans to open 11 more by the end of 2019. ACU Development is the franchiser of Modern Acupuncture franchise locations and an operator in some states.
