Report: Italian toymaker Giochi Preziosi mulls 2020 IPO

Italian toymaker and distributor Giochi Preziosi SpA is planning to launch an IPO in Milan in the first half of 2020, Reuters reported Oct. 4, citing two sources close to the matter.

Giochi Preziosi, which is controlled by Italian entrepreneur and Genoa football club owner Enrico Preziosi, is now working on the planned float after postponing it earlier this year to acquire Spanish rival Fábricas Agrupadas de Muñecas de Onil SA, or Famosa, and smaller Italian plush toymaker Trudi SpA, the report said.

The company is expected to be valued at about €700 million, the report said, adding that it could float about €250 million of stock.

Giochi Preziosi reportedly forecasts €700 million in sales and €100 million in EBITDA this year following the acquisition of Famosa.

The toy manufacturer did not respond to a request for comment, Reuters said.
