Sumitomo Mitsui Financial reports 3.9% YOY rise in fiscal-year profit

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc. posted a year-over-year increase in profit for the fiscal year ended March 31, beating estimates.

Profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 3.9% to ¥734.37 billion, or ¥520.27 per share, from ¥706.52 billion, or ¥515.58 per share.

The S&P Capital IQ consensus mean estimate for GAAP EPS was ¥512.89.

As of May 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.40.
