O'Reilly Automotive Q3 profit climbs 21.0% YOY

O'Reilly Automotive Inc. said its normalized net income for the third quarter was $2.49 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $2.38 per share.

EPS increased 26.3% year over year from $1.97.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $251.2 million, an increase of 21.0% from $207.7 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.1% from 11.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 10.8% year over year to $2.08 billion from $1.88 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 8.6% on an annual basis to $1.66 billion from $1.53 billion.

Reported net income rose 22.7% year over year to $266.0 million, or $2.64 per share, from $216.8 million, or $2.06 per share.
