Uber Technologies Inc. will not reapply for a self-driving permit in California, TechCrunch.com reported March 27, citing a statement by an Uber representative.
The company spokesperson said the company has suspended self-driving operations anyway, following the accident that resulted in a death of a woman in Tempe, Ariz.
Under the current permit, the last day for the company to test self-driving cars is March 31.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey recently ordered the Arizona Department of Transportation to suspend Uber's self-driving testing access in the state.
