20th Century Fox Film buys virtual production company

21st Century Fox Inc.'s 20th Century Fox Film bought virtual production and facial capture tool developer Technoprops for an undisclosed sum, The Hollywood Reporter reported April 6.

Under a multiyear agreement, Technoprops will operate as Fox VFX Lab and its founder Glenn Derry will reportedly serve as vice president of visual effects.

The new division will also set up a virtual production facility and new headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.
