Willis Towers Watson launches facultative reinsurance hub in Europe

Willis Towers Watson Plc has unveiled a facultative reinsurance hub for the "DACH" region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The hub will drive Willis Towers Watson corporate risk and broking's business in Western Europe.

The company has appointed Gerhard Hurek head of DACH facultative reinsurance. Hurek had led the facultative business at MAPFRE RE for Germany, Austria, and the Central and Eastern European region.

The company has also added Željko Panic as executive director. At MAPFRE RE, he had served as head of treaty business for the CEE countries.

Hurek and Panic will start their new roles in the week of Oct. 2.
