FuelCell signs service agreement with Korea Southern Power

FuelCell Energy Inc. signed a 20-year service agreement for a recently completed 20-MW fuel cell project adjacent to Korea Southern Power Co. Ltd.'s combined-cycle facility.

Eight fuel cell facilities will support a district heating system beside the 1,800-MW Sinincheon combined-cycle power plant in Incheon, South Korea.

FuelCell Energy President and CEO said in a July 26 news release that the fuel cell project was constructed and commissioned in 10 months.

Korea Southern Power, a subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corp., operates 9,000 MW of gas and coal-fired power plants in South Korea and also undertakes power plant development engineering in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
