Global Renewable Power, a renewable energy platform of institutional investor BlackRock Real Assets, reached an agreement to sell its controlling stake in the 42.5-MW Elk and 37.5-MW Hawkeye (Bethel) wind farms in Iowa to Greenbacker Renewable Energy, the companies said Sept. 17.
Global Renewable Power owns 90% of the membership interests in each of the facilities.
The wind farms have long-term power purchase agreements with Central Iowa Power Cooperative.
The transaction comes months after Global Renewable Power sold the Community Wind South Wind Farm in Minnesota to Greenbacker, owned by asset manager Greenbacker Capital Management LLC.
