Stavely to start drilling at Mathinna gold project following license grant

The Tasmanian Department of State Growth granted Stavely Minerals Ltd. subsidiary Stavely Tasmania Pty. Ltd. exploration license 19/2018 covering the New Golden Gate and Tasmanian Consols gold mines within the Mathinna project in Australia for an initial term of four years.

The parent company said Sept. 13 that environmental baseline studies have been completed, and maiden drill programs are expected to start in October.

In November 2018, Stavely secured priority application rights over two additional areas, EL4/2019 and EL6/2019, and expects exploration licenses to be granted in the coming months.

Upon securing EL19/2018 and the priority rights to EL4/2019, the company conducted a comprehensive review of exploration work undertaken in the area.

In June, Stavely Operations Pty. Ltd. terminated its planned acquisition of BCD Resources NL's Beaconsfield gold plant in Tasmania, Australia.
