Tenet Healthcare, Humana revise effective dates of multiyear agreement

Tenet Healthcare Corp. revised the effective dates of its multiyear, national agreement with Humana Inc., signed May 1.

As part of the May 1 contract, the parties agreed to restore in-network access to all Tenet providers between June 1 and Oct. 1.

Under the amendment, Humana members covered under its commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans, plus those who purchased insurer coverage on the healthcare insurance marketplace, will be in-network with all Tenet providers, effective June 1.

The company terminated its contract with Humana on Sept. 30, 2016, following failed contract negotiations.
