Enel Américas SA said its normalized net income for the first quarter amounted to 208.4 million pesos, an increase of 17.0% from 178.1 million pesos in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin rose to 8.1% from 6.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 11.9% on an annual basis to 2.98 billion pesos from 2.66 billion pesos, and total operating expenses grew 9.5% from the prior-year period to 2.34 billion pesos from 2.13 billion pesos.
Reported net income grew 75.7% year over year to 245.2 million pesos, or 1 centavos per share, from 139.6 million pesos, or 0 centavos per share.
As of April 28, US$1 was equivalent to 605.60 Chilean pesos.
