Vattenfall, Honda to develop electric vehicle charging solution in Europe

Vattenfall AB partnered with Honda Motor Co. Ltd. as part of its efforts to become a leading operator of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The companies signed a letter of intent to introduce home charging solutions and flexible energy contracts tailored for electric vehicle owners in Europe. The service will initially be rolled out in the U.K. and Germany in 2020, according to an Oct. 23 news release.

Vattenfall will oversee the installation of the Honda Power Charger, a smart domestic charge point, through preferred contractors in the two countries. Customers will be offered a competitive renewable electricity contract with Vattenfall.
