Verdion develops German distribution center for Amazon

Logistics developer Verdion began work on a €100 million, 1.12 million-square-foot regional distribution center for Amazon in Werne, Germany.

The development will serve as an e-commerce facility with access to major motorways and key West German cities in the Rhine-Rhur area, the company said in a release. The project is scheduled to be completed in six parts, starting September 2017.

Additionally, Verdion is developing a 1.1 million-square-foot fulfillment center for Amazon at its 6 million-square-foot iPort scheme in Doncaster, U.K., scheduled to open this year.

Logistics Capital Partners is also reportedly set to develop a 1.14 million-square-foot distribution center for Amazon in Italy, through a partnership with AEW's LOGISTIS fund.
