U.S. mortgage applications increased 0.1% on a seasonally adjusted basis in the week ended Nov. 17 from the previous week, the Mortgage Bankers Association said.
The market composite index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, declined 2% from the previous week on an unadjusted basis. Applications to refinance a house decreased 5% from the previous week.
The seasonally adjusted purchase index rose 5% from the previous week, while the unadjusted index increased 1% from the previous week and was up 4% from the same week a year earlier.
The refinance share of mortgage activity fell to 49.9% of total applications from 51.3% in the previous week.
