Sunfar Computer Q2 profit climbs YOY

Sunfar Computer Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to 18 Taiwan cents per share, a gain from 18 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$14.6 million, a gain from NT$14.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 1.3% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 11.1% year over year to NT$1.11 billion from NT$1.25 billion, and total operating expenses declined 11.3% from the prior-year period to NT$1.09 billion from NT$1.22 billion.

Reported net income grew 4.9% from the prior-year period to NT$19.4 million, or 24 cents per share, from NT$18.4 million, or 23 cents per share.

As of Aug. 12, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.39.
