Maruzen CHI Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 31 amounted to a loss of 1 Japanese sen per share, compared with a loss of 83 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥1.4 million, compared with a loss of ¥76.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 0.0% from negative 0.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥39.95 billion from ¥38.51 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥39.93 billion from ¥38.69 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥234.0 million, or a loss of ¥2.53 per share, compared to a loss of ¥169.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.83 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Dec. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.57.
