AOPEN Q1 loss widens YOY

Aopen Inc. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of NT$1.06 per share, compared with a loss of NT$1.05 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$37.1 million, compared with a loss of NT$36.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to negative 11.9% from negative 10.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 6.7% year over year to NT$313.1 million from NT$335.6 million, and total operating expenses decreased 6.5% on an annual basis to NT$368.4 million from NT$394.0 million.

Reported net income totaled a loss of NT$66.4 million, or a loss of NT$1.90 per share, compared to a loss of NT$64.3 million, or a loss of NT$1.86 per share, in the prior-year period.
