Shell, EDP submit bids from Mayflower project for Conn. wind solicitation

Mayflower Wind, a joint venture of Shell New Energies US LLC and EDPR Offshore North America LLC, submitted bids for offshore wind energy to a request for proposals issued by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The request is seeking 2,000 MW of offshore wind power, as required by a law mandating that level of capacity procurement by 2030.

The joint venture would supply the power from the under-development, 1,600-MW Mayflower Wind Offshore Project in Massachusetts.

Shell New Energies is a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell PLC and EDPR Offshore is a subsidiary of EDP - Energias de Portugal SA.
