Paos Holdings fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

Paos Holdings Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 30, 2015, amounted to 920,630 ringgits, a gain from 52,500 ringgits in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.5% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to 14.2 million ringgits, compared with 14.1 million ringgits in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses decreased 8.7% from the prior-year period to 12.8 million ringgits from 14.1 million ringgits.

Reported net income came to 974,000 ringgits, or 1 sen per share, compared to a loss of 131,000 ringgits, or a loss of 0 sen per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Jan. 26, US$1 was equivalent to 4.26 ringgits.
