Tesla Inc. produced 96,155 vehicles and delivered 97,000 in the third quarter, the automaker said Oct. 2.
This production beat Tesla's delivery record of 95,200 vehicles during the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Tesla produced 16,318 Model S and X vehicles, with 17,400 deliveries, according to a news release.
The California-based automaker said it produced 79,837 Model 3 cars and delivered 79,600 of them.
The company said it achieved record net orders in the third quarter and is entering the fourth quarter with an increase in the order backlog.
"As was also the case in Q2, nearly all of our Model 3 orders were received from customers who did not previously hold a reservation, solidifying the transition to generating strong organic demand. We are continuing to focus on increasing production to meet that demand," Tesla said.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk told employees that the company could make a record 100,000 deliveries this quarter, Electrek reported Sept. 26.
