Bowen Coking Coal's resource estimate at Isaac River up by 67% to 8.7 Mt

Bowen Coking Coal Ltd. said Aug. 22 that the total resource estimate on its Isaac River coal project in Queensland, Australia, went up by 67% from the previously reported 5.3 million tonnes to 8.7 million tonnes, of which 8.35 million tonnes is classified as measured and indicated.

The increase is attributed to the inclusion of the resource at the Vermont Upper seam that is estimated at 3.2 million tonnes, of which 89% is classified as measured and indicated. The drilling program at Vermont Upper seam, which was completed in April, intersected the seam in all six drill holes.

The total resource estimate at the Leichhardt seam, meanwhile, is at 5.5 million tonnes.
