Vice Media LLC laid off staff across different departments at Viceland in line with a plan to focus on news programming, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
The media company dismissed about 15 employees from various departments, including in programming, marketing and research.
As part of the planned reorganization, Viceland is expected to trim down its entertainment and other lifestyle programming.
Vice Media is looking to combine Vice News and Viceland and has hired employees to the news division, the Journal said, citing one of the sources.
