Kanseki Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 was ¥22.80 per share, a decrease of 11.2% from ¥25.67 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥168.8 million, a decrease of 11.2% from ¥190.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 2.1% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled ¥8.21 billion, compared with ¥8.28 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses totaled ¥7.87 billion, compared with ¥7.90 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income declined on an annual basis to ¥171.0 million, or ¥23.10 per share, from ¥175.0 million, or ¥23.64 per share.
As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
