Euronext NV said it now holds 61.4% of Oslo Børs VPS Holding ASA after majority of the shareholders of the Norwegian bourse operator accepted its takeover offer.
The Dutch stock exchange operator offered to acquire Oslo Børs for 158 Norwegian kroner per share, plus a fixed interest payment of 3.21 kroner per share. Shareholders who accept the offer on or before June 7 will receive payment June 14.
Euronext added that it would still take acceptances of the offer until June 28.
Euronext first launched a takeover bid for Oslo Børs in January but it was rivaled by U.S.-based Nasdaq Inc. The companies had a tug-of-war of offers until Nasdaq pulled out from the race in late May.
As of June 4, US$1 was equivalent to 8.71 Norwegian kroner.
