Saipem awarded contracts for BP project offshore Azerbaijan

A consortium of Saipem SpA, Boshelf LLC and STAR GULF FZCO was awarded three new contracts by BP PLC for the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil and gas field offshore Azerbaijan.

Two contracts involve pipeline design, pipelay and other related activities, while the other contract covers transportation and installation of four jacket pin piles, subsea structures and spools.

Saipem's share of the contracts totals around $145 million, according to an Oct. 4 news release from Saipem.

Located in the Caspian Sea, the field covers an area of more than 4,000 square kilometers.
